Well Said Wednesday: Some Days, Content Creation *Is* A Slog

October 23, 2019 in Inspiration & Creativity

…and on those days, there’s nothing to do but embrace the sh*tty first draft and write something.

As Natalie Goldberg says in her revered writing guide Writing Down The Bones, “just keep your hand moving.”

Even though Natalie focuses on creative writing and advocates hand-writing drafts, hers is still good advice for content creators trying to support their business through messaging. Getting started on something — anything— is one of the most powerful ways to lift you from writing procrastination.

You might even end up with something you like.

And you might not, but that’s still not defeat.

But either way, you’re making progress because even a sh*tty first draft is better than no draft at all.
